First Technical Breakthrough in Recycling of Oily Wastewater

      On May 13, Morning Post Petrochina (Market Quotation Stock) Jilin Oilfield, one of China"s five oilfields, announced a few days ago that the harmless treatment of oilfield"s oily wastewater independently developed by Aegis Petroleum Technology (Shanghai) CO., LTD. passed the review of provincial level experts of Jilin Oilfield and the process discharge conformed to the national dis-charge standard. This is also the first breakthrough in this technology in China.

      Oily wastewater is a kind of wastewater produced resulting from enhancing oil recovery, such as fracturing fluid, and oil producing wastewater, etc. It is a major oilfield wastewater. The oily wastewater has complex composition and difficult to handle, therefore has been a major source of oil pollution.

      The harmless disposal of oily wastewater provides strong support for production increase and environmental protection of oilfield. He Wenyi, chairman of the board of Aegis, said that China was a country lacking of water resources, thoroughly solve recycling of oily wastewater would not only bring huge economic benefits for the enterprise, but also provide effective technical protection for energy saving of major oilfields.
